2nd International Symposium on Disaster Resilience & Sustainable Development-AIT, Thailand

June 26, 2021 – The Graduate School of Business (GSB) Disaster Risk Management (DRM) Unit, Philippine School of Business Administration – Manila (PSBA-Manila) represented by Dr. Tabassam Raza, Associate Dean and Director DRM Unit, Dr. Antonio Valdez, Dean Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Marikina (PLMar), Mr. Sherlito Poyot, DBA student and Mr. Erick Oinde, MBA-DRM student, presented abstracts on “Business Continuity Level of Quezon City in the Advent of Environmental Catastrophe towards Business Sustainability Development”, “Primary and Secondary Data Collection for Thesis or Dissertation Writing in the Advent of COVID-19 Pandemic: A Guidepost”, “Impact of COVID-19 on Higher Education Institutions in Northern Mindanao and Manila City: A Pandemic Recovery and Rehabilitation Strategic Plan” and “Mainstreaming Capacity Development Short Courses and Training Programs on Disaster Risk Management in Higher Education Institutions: A Hybrid Ladderized Learning Model” respectively during the 2nd International Symposium on Disaster Resilience & Sustainable Development which was virtually held from 24-25 June 2021. The symposium was organized by the Asian Institute of Technology, Thailand.

The symposium served as a platform to bring together discussions on various dimensions of higher education systems in the Asia-Pacific region with emphasis on Disaster Risk Reduction and Sustainable Development.  It focused on various dimensions of existing and future risk scenarios and concerned efforts of the scientific communities to find new adaptation methods. It also provided an opportunity to corporate and shared country-wise experiences on the global challenges. Scientists, researchers, practitioners, and other valued participants were able to share their innovation and technology-driven solutions and implementing steps that contribute to achieving the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
