PSBA-Manila DRM Unit to attend and participate at the International Symposium on Disaster Resilience and Sustainable Development, AIT, Thailand

March 6, 2019 — The Philippine School of Business Administration – Manila (PSBA-Manila) Disaster Risk Management Unit (DRM Unit) under the Graduate School of Business (GSB) will participate at the International Symposium on Disaster Resilience and Sustainable Development to be held on March 7-8, 2019 at the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) Conference Center, Thailand. The theme for the conference is “Integrating Higher Education Institutions achieving Sendai Framework on Disaster Risk Reduction (SFDRR) and Sustainable Development Goals (SDG)”. This event is hosted by AIT with partnership with the United Nations University Institute for the Advanced Study of Sustainability (UNU-IAS), and Promotion of Sustainability in Postgraduate Education and Research (ProSPER.Net) and in association with Keio University, University Sains Malaysia, and Miyagi University of Education.

Dr. Tabassam Raza, Associate Dean GSB and Director Research and Development DRM Unit, will be part of a panel discussing “Education, Capacity Development and Disaster Resilience” on March 7, 11:00am-12:30pm. Further, he will be presenting on “Estimating Disaster Economic Losses: Impact Rapid Assessment and Disaster Scaling (IRADS) Calculator” during a technical session on the same day from 2:00pm-3:40pm.

In addtion, Mr. Ramon Iñigo M. Espinosa will be assisting the Associate Dean in the selection of professors who will attend the conference to be part of PSBA-Manila’s Adjunct Professors as well as establish potential Memorandums of Understanding with their institutions.
